Sandi Cobia, LMHC LLC is a fee for service provider and does not participate in any insurance plans. The fee for the service is due at the time of the service.  In order to receive coverage for therapy services, insurance companies typically require a mental health diagnosis and will often determine the type of treatment and duration of services allowed for specific diagnoses. Additionally, some personal information needs to be shared in order to process individual claims. I do not accept insurance payment because I value confidentiality and believe that therapy should be a collaborative process between the client and the counselor without interference from a third-party payer. I do understand that it is sometimes necessary for families to utilize their insurance benefits. If you have out of network benefits, a medical flex spending account, or a health savings account you may pay the standard fee at the time of service and I can provide you with a monthly statement or super bill to provide to your insurance provider for reimbursement. Always check with your insurance provider in advance to clarify your benefits and reimbursement rates for therapy and counseling.
